Warrior Cats

Erin Hunter is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! Her books are about clans of cats, and the hardships they suffer due to humans and natural disasters. There are four clans. These are- Thunderclan (Fierce and brave), Windclan (Swift and loyal), Riverclan (Sleek and strong) and Shadowclan (Wily and proud). This is a fantastic series, our personal favourites are 'A Dangerous Path' and 'The Darkest Hour'.

Glee: The Beginning

We've all either seen the show or heard the music, but now you can find out what life at McKinley High was like before New Directions in this amazing novel! In this brilliant story, you find out about all your favourite characters before they were bonded by Glee Club, and you also find out some very interesting things...

Who was in the original club before Mr Schuester took over? What was it like when Mike, Matt, Finn and Puck were 'just random football players'? And when Santana, Brittany and Quinn were just a few scheming cheerleaders? And everyone else was just a loser? Also, you find out the events of the club's first Invitationals, and learn that some characters weren't as nice as they are now... A must for all  Gleeks!

Queen of Teen

Cathy Cassidy has been crowned this year's Queen of Teen - here she is looking very pink and glittery. Cathy's books are just the thing if you want something girly to relax with, and the library has (nearly) all of them.

On her website she promises that she will wear her crown while she writes her next book. You can read her blog about it here.

Also, you can make cupcakes to share - mine are chocolate and have strawberry icing with smarties on top.

Cathy's latest book is called Cherry Crush, and is the start of a new series called The Chocolate Box Girls.

Furnace book 2- Solitary

Book 2 is about the escape of the furnace and they said it was impossible but Alex proved them wrong and showed those teacher's pets that there is a way to escape Hell and the furnace. This is a good book I personally would reccommend this book to people who love crime, horror and sci-fi.

Talking about sequels...

The second Gallagher Girl book is now in the Library - Gallagher Academy claims to be a school for geniuses, but is really a school for spies. Read all about it here... http://www.gallagheracademy.com/index.html ... and read the first two books in the series I'd Tell You I Love You But Then I'd Have To Kill You and Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy.

Sequels

There's nothing better than finishing a really good book, and then finding out there's a sequel.
New in the Library this week is the sequel to Maggie Stiefvater's Shiver (an amazing book about werewolves) - Linger.

From the blurb -

In Shiver, Grace and Sam found each other. Now, in Linger, they must fight to be together. For Grace, this means defying her parents and keeping a very dangerous secret about her own well-being. For Sam, this means grappling with his werewolf past . . . and figuring out a way to survive into the future.

If you want to find out more about the wolves of Mercy Falls, or the author Maggie Stiefvater, her web site is here... http://www.maggiestiefvater.com/shiver/ .

The Furnace by Alexander Gordon Smith

Furnace is about a boy who is framed for the murder of his best friend. It all starts with the boy (who is called Alex) starting to steal from people. The first victim of this is a boy whose dad is very rich and gives him 20 quid for lunch and this keeps going on and on until reality catches up with him and he is sent to a prison called Furnace. The boy, as bright as he is, finds a gap in a boarded up room and he plans a way to escape by blowing up gloves with a flammable gas and he blows a hole and well you will just have to read the book and find out what happens.
